Lisa’s Skillset

Here is my #skillset:

Project Management | I have been a producer for 30+ years, so managing projects is something I am comfortable with and good at.  I have overseen the creation of corporate video projects, websites, and interactive portals; line-produced two television pilots; and managed seven corporate relocation projects, two of which occurred overseas. I have managed corporate meetings and conference events with an attendance of 20 to 2,000. As a production manager, I was responsible for stunt shows, Off-Broadway musicals & Off-Off-Broadway theatricals.  That shared, I am back in school to learn new things, so I am more than happy to support other people in a management role.

Developer | I have done development work.  However, I have done it in the context of managing programming teams.  I have old-school programming chops (think MAD, Basic, and COBOL), but my coding days are far behind me.  My highest-profile project was the start-up Party2Win. P2W developed an early form of portal engagement, supporting organizations, and individuals so they could manage dozens, hundreds, even thousands of events.  Initially developed to support political fundraising and recruit volunteers, we expanded into the consumer market with PartyLaunch.  Users got custom event pages, ready-to-use invitations, event planning tips, and the training they needed to make their events a success.

Design/UX | I am not a graphic artist, though I am very good with GIMP.  However, I love the design process and am an evangelist for creating a user-interface that is user-friendly.  I am also a video editor, I mostly use Premiere, but I can also work on Avid and FinalCutPro.

Outreach | I understand how social media works and I have helped to craft and manage successful product launch campaigns. However, because I understand it, my personal use of social media is limited by design.
